This Chess Baron Product: The Redwood version of the luxury chess board section is colored in such a way as to really complement the darker shades of pieces. It's quite red in appearance. When we first saw this we were shocked by the obvious redness - but the board coloring grew on us so much that we now regard this as the classic excellent board in our inventory as long as your pieces are correspondingly dark. It's simply oustanding. The finish is such that it hosts luxury chess sets splendidly. The weight of the board is quite significant - over 4kg. This model has squares of just over 2 inches.
