The original pieces were discovered on the Isle of Lewis in the Scottish Outer Hebrides shortly before 1831. Each side has its own individual appearance, as each piece is slightly different, representing the hand-carved nature of the originals, but the pieces are still readily identifiable. This Isle of Lewis chess set is highly specified and true to the originals. Once again - the board is included in this package.
