TH2029 - The Crusades Unpainted Chess Set

TH2029 The Crusades Unpainted Chess Set
Heavy Weighted in Crushed Stone. King Size 5.25 inches This Chess Baron Product: Our designers have created a magnificent chess set which epitomises the struggles for domination between Christians and Muslims. This conflict has continued intermittently for over a thousand years, but it is the period between 1095 and 1292 which has captured our imagination because of the exploits of the Crusader knights. A skillfully constructed theme chess set, these pieces represent the Christian side led by King Richard I of England, known as Richard the Lionheart, in combat with the Muslim armies led by Saladin. This chess set concentrates particularly on the Third great Crusade led by King Richard I of England, who in 1189 joined King Philip II of France in an effort to recapture the holy city of Jerusalem. King Richard, with 8000 troops, seized Cyprus and some cities on the Palestinian coast, but ultimately failed to dislodge the Muslim leader, Saladin, from Jerusalem. Chess Baron: It's all about the customer.

| ChessBaron is genuinely committed to a high quality hand carved product. Chess Sets like this, of this level of qualityare becoming rarer and rarer in this commoditized world. It's just too tempting to give in to the short term desirefor profit and so to skimp on materials to make the item less expensive, cutting this corner and shaving that edge.ChessBaron is making profit too, but we intend to be around for your children and your grandchildren, serving themas we wish to serve you, with integrity, honesty and pride. |
