Made in Sheesham wood and Chidar this chess set is a striking Russian design immediately seen in the well designed knight and it's glorious curved mane. Constructed in Golden Rosewood, this set is so cute. The weebles wobble but don't fall down. Every little piece can be made almost horizontal, but just springs back into place. The pieces are not magnetised, but their base weighting to facilitate the bounce-back makes it seem as if they are magnetic. The case is quite luxurious, with velvet lining for each of the cute little pieces. A lovely chess gift for someone.

The Christina Classic is very good value as a double weighted 4 inch chess set. The weighting is quite generous and can almost be termed a triple weighted chess set. The style is traditional Staunton and is an excellent value chess set. The board size for the chess set should be 1.75 inch squares.

Beautifully finished set - 3.5-inch by 7-inch with integral comp to hold exquisite pieces. The board with the chess set is high gloss with well crafted pieces that have a good quality implicit magnetism. The chess set easily withstands significant knocks and nudges. This slightly larger version of E2005 is one of the nicest of the small chess sets because of the delicate craftmanship used in the pieces and the superior quality of materials.

Filmed on location in the heart of the jungle (we think our photographer is really getting into his new role!), with tutu's for each pawn, this chess set may have you running for fear of cannibals. The carving is bespoke and individual - a good quality set for this price. Lines on the set are irregular, some bishops have smiles, some dont. A great chess set with a real theme along with strong staunton influence. Just a point: no spears included. We may introduce that in the future.

Slightly extra weighted chess set. Such an attractive set! The pieces for the concave staunton are weighted - something very rare at this price. The rook as shown in the chess set here is very attractive in design. The King is 3.75 inch high and the pieces are made from sheesham and chidar, woods prized for their golden color and adaptability. The bishop has symmetrical lilting curves in two places towards the bottom, a pattern continued with the other pieces in the chess set. The board for this chess set should be 1.5 inch or 1.75 inch squares.

An excellent value economy set for Staunton lovers. Sheeshamwood (also known as Golden Rosewood). The height of the King is a generous 3 inches (approximately 7.5 cm). With a base diameter of 1.5 inches (just over 3cm), they fit a chess board individual square size of 1.75 inches (4.5 cm). These pieces have excellent balance. Weight: 15g for the King, the King balance is 25%. Can't go wrong with a chess set at this price at this quality.
